Episcopal Relief & Development

For over 80 years, Episcopal Relief & Development has worked with an extensive network of faith and community partners to advance lasting change in communities affected by injustice, poverty, disaster and climate change.
Inspired by our faith, we reach over four million people each year by focusing on four interconnected priorities: nurturing the potential of caregivers and young children, reducing violence against women and girls, strengthening communities’ resilience to climate change and facilitating humanitarian response to disasters.
Episcopal Relief & Development’s unique Savings with Education (SWE) microfinance program is at the core of our integrated efforts to help economically disadvantaged families continue to face and overcome challenges that have been exacerbated in recent years by repeated disasters and escalating costs. Canyon Institute has faithfully supported this work for over
a decade.
With our partner, AANGLIDESH, the program has addressed the emerging challenges in Honduras, expanding our core SwE work to reach more marginalized people and provide support to their livelihoods, make business microloans to deaneries, promote kitchen gardens with nutrition education and, to provide emergency food relief.
