Dr. Moffat and Mrs. Doreen Zimba, founders of Northrise University, were both born in Zambia and experienced the challenges of limited educational opportunities. In 1998, while pursuing studies abroad, God placed a vision in their hearts: to bring transformation to Zambia through Christ-centered higher education.
In 2004, Northrise University opened its doors in a small building in Ndola with 50 students in two programs—Information Technology and Theology. As enrollment grew, the Zimbas requested land from the Zambian government to build a permanent campus. By God’s grace, their request for 30 acres was met with the gift of 640 acres.
Northrise University serves 1,100 students in 12 degree programs, including Law, Nursing, IT, Business, Finance, and Engineering. The need for high-quality, Christ-centered higher education in Zambia has never been greater. With more than 900 graduates serving in communities across Zambia and beyond, the vision is a reality. Northrise equips students with knowledge, character, and faith—preparing them to bring lasting transformation.
The Christian Vision Grant will be used to provide critical scholarships to deserving students. Together, we are raising up a new generation of leaders who are changing Zambia and the world—one student at a time.
