For over 30 years, Aim Right Ministries has been a trusted presence in downtown Phoenix, walking alongside youth in the Garfield neighborhood. Our mission is to guide middle school students toward belonging, identity, and purpose. These students face challenges such as food insecurity, family trauma, and limited safe spaces or enrichment opportunities. Aim Right guides them toward a faith that reimagines futures, rewrites stories, and builds generationally healthy homes. A grant from Canyon Institute shall provide the funds necessary to purchase a second van that will allow us to safely transport more students and provide greater access to experiences such as faith outings, service projects, and field trips. Reliable transportation is one of the greatest barriers our students face, and a second van will help us grow weekly participation from 30 to at least 45 students. Additionally, we plan to host a staff appreciation event for Garfield Middle School. The teachers work tirelessly with limited resources, and many of their students are also part of Aim Right. This event will encourage and celebrate approximately 62 staff members, strengthening our partnership with the school and, ultimately, benefiting the students we serve together.
